July 21, 2012 - This was the session of CEO moves. First the CEO arrived on the steamer in Thorny Point at 6:00 AM and headed to White Hall. Then at noon she left White Hall and headed to Hopkins Spring. After an hour in Hopkins Spring she headed back to White Hall. Jerry got the privilege of handling the CEO in both situations. Credit has to go to the dispatcher (Philip) for keeping control of the railroad and keeping everything as close to schedule as possible during all of these CEO moves. Good job Philip! And credit has to be given to the White Hall yardmaster (Steve) for keeping a very busy yard mostly under control. Especially with the addition of sixteen new cars that had been delivered to White Hall from the Glen Allen Car Company. The Hood Turn could not make the hill coming out of White Hall and had to be doubled using the White Hall yard engine. That all went fine but the White Hall yard engine went from Flat Top back to White Hall without orders or a clearance. Not good! With the exception of some electrical issues (it seems I always have some of these) the session went very smoothly. Most of the electrical issues were the stalling of the short wheelbase engines. And I suspect this is due to dirt. I will be running these engines around the entire layout and fixing any issues I encounter before the next session.
