January 21, 2012 - The 88th OPS session was the first session to use the new form 19 process. Since Dick was assigned to the dispatcher's position he got to be the guinea pig. And Dick set a pretty high bar for the next dispatcher. Dick read a memo from the Chairman to the crew before briefing the crew on the exceptions to the normal schedule. The form 19 printing process seemed to go OK when the superintendent didn't interfere and delete Dick's work. Some minor tweaking may be in order but that is always the case. Bill and Glenn kept White Hall under control (mostly) and the schedule didn't get too far behind in the end. Good job. Steve was assigned to Thorny Point and spent the first half hour complaining about the lack of track. This lack of track would only get worse. And of course the old siding switch just west of Furnace would not work as usual. I am looking for some conductive gel to place under the point rails to improve contact. It is either that or attach small wires between the point rails and the frog rails. From the sounds of laughter it appears everyone had a good time at the first session of 2012.
