What a difference a session makes. The last session was one of the smoothest. This session was anything but. The session started off with a defective coupler on the passenger car Page. Since this is the only coach the line has it needed to be fixed before it could leave Thorny Point and this threatened to throw everything behind schedule. However it was fixed in time to keep #11 on schedule. But the Thorny Point yardmaster took care of the schedule later with #100/110. The superintendent road the Broadway turn and boy did he learn a few things. He was impressed with the conductor/engineer, but not in a favorable way. The Thorny Point yardmaster was given some sage advice several times but ignored it to his own peril. And the White Hall yardmaster and assistant yardmaster worked together like a well oiled machine. Not. An audit of the cars revealed a different approach by the Broadway turn crew to spotting cars. I may have to take time one day to try and understand it. Not. Cars were put in turntable pits, the RF&P interchange red board was ignored and of course #40 acted up. To cap off the session the dispatcher ignored the special instruction to double head #130 and this resulted in a light engine move from White Hall to Stanley. On the plus side #40 could not get #10 up the grade outside of White Hall and so #43 (the light engine move) was used as a helper to Hood. One of the bright spots was new comer Ian. As far as I can tell his performance was flawless. I still had fun and hope everyone else did also.
