August 18, 2018 - The 158th session was the Murphy's Law session. It started with the radio reception not working (or working intermittently). Turning the system off and back on did not resolve the issue. So the entire session was run using wired throttles. This caused aisle congestion and frequent loss of control of engines. Next one of the White Hall throttles would not acquire its engine and was replaced with a substitute for the rest of the session. (I could not duplicate this after the session.) A change I made to try and center the printouts from the Train Order System caused them to print on two pages. That was quickly fixed. A short in Thorny Point would not reset and we could not find what was causing it. During our investigation it did finally reset. Who knows! And lastly the turntable in Broadway is once again broken. All of this added up to passenger trains 21 and 10 being over two hours late and requiring orders to run. However, Rick did an excellent job of dispatching and everything except one MOW train was run. I expect the radios to work just fine when I go back into the train room. If not then maybe I can trouble shoot the situation and get it fixed. This is the second time in a year that radio issues have surfaced.
