October 17, 2015 was the date of the 134th session. Apprentice Tom Harris attended along with a full FQO crew. Usually when we have an apprentice the FQOs rise to the occasion and make the apprentice feel comfortable by making as many mistakes as possible. This session was no exception. During the last session the White Hall yard crew put the RPO caboose on the mixed train #30. To prevent this from happening today's White Hall yard crew didn't bother to put a caboose on mixed train #30. So once again I feel the need to post a White Hall work aide this time in the form of a caboose identification aide. But it didn't stop there. Oh no. The Hood Turn crew took three trips to get one stock car spotted correctly. During the first trip the car was ignored. On the second trip it was brought to White Hall. Finally during the third trip it was delivered to Hood Brothers. There were rumors that the engineer's favorite pig was in this car and he didn't want to see her turned into pork chops and bacon. This same engineer managed to put his engine in the White Hall turntable pit. He must have been very distraught over the loss of this pig! All in all I believe the FQOs made the apprentice fell very competent!
On the brighter side the layout ran well and the dispatcher was able to keep everything running smoothly including a CEO move, double heading #110 and an extra to get some Broadway Turn cars to Hopkins Spring to service some disgruntled customers.
