June 15, 2013 - Starting with the 106th OPS session we instituted an apprentice program that allows first time attendees to attend even if the session is full. We just expand the crew size from 8 to 9. Will Reed became the first E&P apprentice when he signed up for and attended this session. The apprentice program seemed to be a success. As for the session, this was an almost boring session. White Hall yard seemed to be the place to be. There were few cars in the yard all day and the White Hall crew was seen several times in the crew lounge eating cookies! There was even a period of about 30 minutes where the crew lounge had four crew members hanging out. And we actually finished on schedule! A very rare occurrence. Doug was the dispatcher and started the sessions with his opening remarks. Then Dick took the floor and read a letter presenting some grievances the employees seemed to have. He then informed E&P management that BSEG was shipping a box car of Red Ass Ale to the employees to relieve their suffering. Based on Dick's comments E&P management has committed to getting a suggestions shredder where all future suggestions can be placed.
